Rakhi , or Raksha bandhan is an auspicious occasion in the Hindu Calendar when sisters tie a sacred thread called 'Rakhi' on the wrist of their brothers and pray for long life. It is widely celebrated as a festival across India and around the world.
This festival celebrating brotherhood and love is held on the full moon in the Indian month of Sravana. The word raksha means "protection," while the verb bandhan means "to tie." Hence the ritual of sisters tieing the rakhi thread on the wrists of their brothers
This year, Rakhi is on 7th August. We will send a free rakhi with each order on request
